Disappearance of a Tangerine is a work aimed at guiding the audience to reflect on the authority of knowledge and art, as well as the essence of contemporary art. The piece was created on December 11, 2023, and consists of a 20-minute performance. During the performance, I place a tangerine on a pedestal, inviting the audience to observe and engage in one-on-one questioning and dialogue with me. Responding with different fictional answers to various questions, I transform the tangerine into a work with entirely different meanings. Using the tangerine as a visual symbol, the work breaks through traditional art interpretation methods by engaging the audience in personal dialogues to let them experience the complex concepts behind the symbol firsthand.
